I've had an HTC Wildfire for two years with Android 2.2. I love AndExplorer. But the system messed up and I hit factory reset. So now my old AndExplorer is gone. I have no gmail account any more; that may have been what blew up my phone.
I preserved my sdcard. I think my old AndExplorer.apk file is still in /mnt/sdcard/Downloads. I used Internet to go to the Lysesoft web page and download the APK. It downloaded AndExporer-1.apk; probablyl stored it in /mnt/sdcard/Downloads.
BUT HOW TO INSTALL IT? Sure, run AndExplorer and click on the apk file. But that's what I don't have any more. So HOW DO I INSTALL IT?
Thanks.
Install AndExplorer
Re: Install AndExplorerYou need a way to execute it. When you download it in browser, does it prompt for install after download?
Re: Install AndExplorerGreat! That was the key clue. I had to download it from the phone. I didn't think of that because II already had AndExplorer.apk on my sdcard and my PC's hard disk, but no way to get Android to install it (because no AndExplorer yet).
[1] Go to http://www.lysesoft.com/products/andexplorer/ using the "Internet" browser ON THE PHONE [2] Click on "Download". This takes me to another part of the same page which also says "Download" but ignore that. [3] Click on "apk" for Android. This causes the download. [4] When the little status part (from the top of the screen) says "Download complete", CLICK ON THAT MINI-MESSAGE and the phone asks if I want to install it. Click on YES and away we go! Life is so much easier with AndExplorer. Thanks. |
