various issues but no matter what...no files are listing

Post by K0T4K »

Hi all,

Ok so I have 2 different FTP server clients (Guild FTP & FileZilla).
All port forwarding done / Firewall allowing programs etc and ALL FTP clients can access either FTP I decide to run.

Firstly: if Im connected on my phone to My home WIFI network I can access BOTH FTPS AND it lists the files, however if Im using 3G (GSm etc)...

If I run the guild FTP server (on the XP machine) I can access it via FTP Clients AND via I.E 7 or 8 (but not Mozilla - 500 Bind error)
While trying to connect to this FTP using AndFTP I get a 500 Bind error if in PASSIVE MODE (although the FTP still sees my connection). If I use ACTIVE mode then I can connect but it gets to LIST and no files display.

If I run the Filezilla server (Win 7 Machine) I can get access via ALL FTP clients but while using I.E 7 or 8 it will ask me for a password then display the “Internet Explorer cannot display this web page”. Whilst using Firefox I get asked for user/pass then get a windows pop up window saying “425 cant open data connection”.
When using AndFTP to connect to the Filezilla server whilst in PASSIVE MODE It again logs on but gets to “227 Entering Passive mode” and then lists no files. If I use ACTIVE MODE it logs on and then gets to “opening data channel for directory list” then lists no files.

I have a SE Xperia X10 Android 1.6

Please note: I dont have a dedicated server etc etc. Its just a PC with Windows 7 (and the other is XP). Again though ALL FTP clients connect just fine and when my phone is connected to my Wifi network it works fine.

Second note: I can connect to my ISP online ftp (free storage space for their clients) without an issue while using 3G.

is it my phone? my setup? my phone provider (Vodafone Australia)

Any ideas? its driving me mental!!!

Cheers in advance :)

What IP do you see when entering in passive mode in AndFTP traces? Is it internal IP or external?
