File size over 2GB

Postby zerohalcyon » Tue Dec 30, 2014 10:49 am

Hi all,

I'm having a little trouble either viewing or moving files greater than 2GB. Whilst scanning through a large movie file, I'm able to view and scan up to just under the 2GB mark, anything past this will result in a crash. Is there anyway to work around this issue? or is this a known SMB limitation?

Thanks!

No error messages on server side (AndSMB runs fine). After further testing, it appears to affect both upload and download. HDD space is of no issue, 100's of GBs of free space. If it helps, the machine is a Minix Neo X8-H 4K Quad-Core Media Hub (2GB RAM) :) Current format of the HDD is FAT32, but that shouldn't be the limiting factor here.

But where is AndSMB here? You're reporting on error outside the AndSMB UI? AndSMB is only on Android.

Is there a AndSmb log file available for viewing on android? As mentioned before the file transfer fails in both directions for files above 2gb. The only visible errors are as posted, tested across two machines with sufficient storage space
