AndExplorer is a file manager for Android devices. It allows browsing files and folders stored on device and sdcard. It can sort by name, size and date. Rename, delete, create folder features are available. It is able to uncompress ZIP, GZIP and TAR files too. It can be called from another application through Intent facilities.

Just click on filename compressed (ZIP, TAR or .GZIP) and it will pop-up a window to ask you where to uncompress file:
- uncompress.gif (20.46 KiB) Viewed 10072 times
- uncompress2.gif (17.78 KiB) Viewed 10075 times
Does it help ?

Is there a way to view files under my /data directory? It shows up as empty even though I have a rooted phone.

It should display files if they are available. Are you able to see them with another file manager or any other android application ?

Using the Terminal Emulator program, if I switch to /data and execute the "ls" command, I get a permission denied error, but if I type "su" first, then "ls" works and I can see the files in that directory.

And how can you run AndExplorer with root privileges ? Can you do a "su" and run AndExplorer ?
I'm not familiar with rooted phones.
