FTPS with andFTP

Post by Manolo79 »

Hi,

First of all, congratulations on your software. It's awsome.

Nevertheless, I have had some troubles with it. Let's see if you can help me, because I'm new on FTP stuff and running out of ideas...

I have Filezilla server installed on my PC (windows) and andFTP on my smartphone (android). The normal FTP conection works perfectly.
Now I try to connect with FTPS, but I can't. I've tried with filezilla client and connects with no problem, so I guess it is an andFTP wrong configuration.
I have created the certificate.crt on filezilla and sent it to my smartphone (root file). Then I have filled all the field required on andFTP:

General
hostname: server IP
Type: FTPS (explicit FTP over TLS/SSL)
Port: 21
User: username
Password: username password
Local root: /sdcard
Remote root: /

Advanced
String: default
Mode: Active
SSH key: I've tried leaving this empty and introducing the root of the same key I generated in filezilla
Password:
Enable restart support: tried both

I attach you the log text in filezilla:
(000091) 29/08/2009 2:20:28 - (not logged in) (****IP****)> Connected, sending welcome message...
(000091) 29/08/2009 2:20:28 - (not logged in) (****IP****)> 220 welcome to my server
(000091) 29/08/2009 2:20:28 - (not logged in) (****IP****)> AUTH TLS
(000091) 29/08/2009 2:20:28 - (not logged in) (****IP****)> 234 Using authentication type TLS
Thats it; it never connects, so there is no more messages till I disconnect it.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

PS: sorry about my English...

UPDATED:
I've tried to connect using WIFI and the log file was this one:

At this point the smartphone shows one message: "No suitable certificates found" And I have no access to my computer files.

In advanced section, could you change from "Active" to "Passive" mode and try again?

Yes!! Done, I'm in. Thanks.

Nevertheless I can't do that from my smartphone (I mean my carrier); I need a WIFI connection available, so... Actually I have one friend of mine who can't do it either (though he is trying SSH conection).

Could be a port stuff?

Thanks again :D

Mmmhh, maybe your carrier does some filtering. Does it work with FTP port 21?

Well... SOLVED!

Actually I don't know why, but there it is.
I were using default port (21) to connect. My friend and myself were having troubles to connect and, somehow, my friend decided to change the listening port (choosing one port number under 1024 except 21 and 990). I have just tried it and it works. I don't know why, but it does...
I've heard that some carriers (about my pc internet connection) dislikes port 21 for any reason, so FTPS connection through that port is not possible (nevertheless FTP connection was perfect through port 21...)

Again, thank you very much.

Have a nice day ;)
