Andftp rejects the name of my FTP-Server

The server I wish to connect to starts with "ftp22" (full name: ftp22.thisismyserver.com).
ANDFTP suggests that the name of the server is wrong and tells me what a server name should look like in its opinion.
I probably knew what an ftp server is before the programming kids who wrote ANDFTP were born.
I suggest they change the application and first let it try if any server that is entered actually exists before they tell the user she / he is too stupid to enter 15 or so letters without a typing mistake.
