Porblem logging in to my FTP

Just got my FTP up and running today. Now I am trying to use ANDFTP to access from my driod(incred). I can log in using my local(behind router) connection. But I keep getting "-java-net-unknownhostexception" on a remote log in. Any Ideas?
I know the droid platform is java based but i dont see why that would be an issue with a program designed to access an ftp.
