AndFTP setup help

Post by trev186 »

Hi,

Trying to get this setup on my N.

I have Filezilla running on my home computer.

I setup a username etc

When I try and login on AndFTP I get no error messages it looks like it worked but the screen is just blank for FTP Files

My username is an internal IP I setup for port forwarding from port 21 192.168.0.XXX

Then I enter my user name and password like I do on the filezilla client but I cannot see any folders. UPDATE Just noticed that like 2 mins later it gives me a Socket exception message.

I also got this to work when I am connected to my home computer's WIFI so I am wondering if I need a different IP for the connection address

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Ok so I played around more with this.

I disabled firewall on my router and un checked Wan blocking on my router as well. Please help

I am using my IP address shown on what is my ip to connect to my home computer over 3G

If I use Port 21 I get the following error:

Java.net.socket exception: Socket closed

addtionally the filezilla server interface shows nothing happening in the text area

If I change the port to 14147 I get the following error:

Java.net connect exception:
cpe-my ip address.socal.res.rr.com my ip address connection refused

I also setup port forwarding on my router for all of the following IP address

192.168.0.150 port 14147 and port 21

192.168.0.1 port 14147 and port 21

still no luck. Can you tell me what I am doing wrong. I know it is some stupid setting

Are you able to connect to your FTP server with a regular FTP client?

It may be a problem with internal/external IP address provided by the FTP server when connecting through 3G. Are you able to connect through Wifi?

What IP address do you see when entering in passive mode in the bottom log box?

Ok so I changed "TYPE" from FTP to SFTP

This shows a log in the application now

It says

connect to and shows my home computer's ip which is what I entered in the settings

it then says

"session.connect.java.net.socket exception:connection reset by peer

then asks for my user name and password which is prefilled and tries again
