storage security requirements (breaking changes)

Post by rserling »

I can no longer download files to my phone. Is there a workaround for this? Is a fix underway?

I second this. I'm an AndFTP Pro user. And I can't choose an ssh key anymore: the folder appears empty. This completely broke my setup. Any help?

Since Android 11+, Google added new security requirements for all storage. AndFTP (and any other application compliant with Android11+) is not allowed to read/write in all folders with basics permissions.

For Internal storage:
- AndFTP has full read/write access (default folder provided): /storage/emulated/0/Android/data/lysesoft.andftp/files
- AndFTP has partial read/write access to: /Downloads and /Documents (only media files visible)
If you're private key (for SCP/SFTP) is availble in such folder, just rename it to .png to make it visible.

For External storage:
- AndFTP has full read/write access to any selected/allowed folder.

I am using a Pixel phone and I don't see anything under /storage/emulated/0/Android/data.

Please advise.
