After syncing to the server (godaddy server) The server changes the date to the current.

What are the best settings (or method) so that I don't keep syncing the same files over and over.

You want to preserve timestamp on upload? Are you using FTP or SFTP or SCP?

yes, i'd like to preserve the time stamp on upload. I have a site with Go Daddy and
I use ftp. I'm using the setting to compare name and file size. Concerned that if the server changes the date, that the file on the server will always appear to be the newer.

Are you able to preserve timestamp with any FTP client?

Nope. So to be clear... Is there a way to have the program determine its action by file size and name, only.

Yes, name + size is an option in Sync criteria drop down list in Menu -> Options

I am using the go daddy server. No matter which settings I use, if I change the file slightly, say a word in a text file, and then save that to the phone, the app says they are the same even though they are not. The date and size are different. Size is not the determining factor for the newness of the file. Somehow the app is not seeing the last modified.

well unfortunately name and size say nothing about which file is older or newer.
When I make a small change in a text file on the phone and go to sysc to the go daddy server, I receive a message that the files are the same... even though they are different in time and size.

I've tried all the settings with the same result.

Go Daddy is not an uncommon server. The problem noted above is an issue.
I've posted now for weeks and we're getting no closer to discovery of what the problem is.
I would suggest that the author call Go Daddy and discuss it. I am sure they would
set up a temporary arrangement to test.
