AndFTP error after switching to SSL

Hi,
I'm using AndFTP for quite some time. I use it on a Samsung S3 to connect to my synology DS211. It works fine but if I want to switch to a secure SSL connection (FTPS (explicit FTP over TLS/SSL) I get the following problem. It seems that the phone fist connects to the server but then I get the following message:
failed to connect to [ip adres] (port 55540): connect failed ehostunreach (no route to host)
Can anyone help? I don't understand why it woks without ssl and doesn't if I turn it on?
Cheers!
