Empty directory listing connecting to an embedded ftp server

When i connect to an embedded ftp server using andftp, i can't see folders and files.
File upload works well, even if I'm able to transfer files only at the root of the FTP server.
I've been trying with both passive and active mode, with no success.
If i try to connect to the same ftp server using my PC, running Linux or windows and filezilla as a client, everything works well and i can see and navigate folders.
The embedded FTP is called Stupid ftpd.
Maybe that's the reason.
