unintended mass deletion of files

System Info: 2.6.27-533ce29d Dalvik 0.9
I had connected to a server to delete a couple files within a directory. I checked both, hit menu, and then delete. Instead of deleting the two selected files, it traced back into the previous folder and started deleting everything else. Luckily, I have a backup.
